If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know how much I rave about the MAM Easy Start bottles. They are the only bottle that Joel will take. So I was absolutely delighted to be sent the new MAM 2 in 1 Single Breast Pump to share my experience using it.

Best of Both
The main selling point for this pump that sets it apart from other similar products is the fact it is 2 pumps in 1. Electric and manual.
I’ll start with the electric function as this is the one I use the most. Well, I was extremely impressed with it. To use the electric pump, you control it with the super sensitive touch screen unit that is rechargeable. Yes, you read that right. Rechargeable! It’s holding its charge well for me and I’ve been using it on one of the middle suction settings. It has an incredible 9 different suction strengths. A word of advice, don’t go full power suction straight away like I did. This thing is powerful. I nearly lost a nipple! Gradually increase the suction to see what setting is best for you. The electric pump has 2 modes. Stimulation mode, which simulates the sucking behaviour that babies do to trigger a letdown of milk and expression mode.
The panel displays the battery life, how long the pump has been running (which I absolutely love as I’m always forgetting how long I’ve been pumping for), the mode that is in use and the strength of the suction.
I’d never used a manual pump before this one and I was really surprised I was able to pump just as much milk as I would with the electric pump, it just took a bit longer. The manual pump is so light and comfortable to use, which is important if you’re going to be using it a lot.
I found the funnel very comfortable to use as the silicone inner is sooooo soft. You can use the pump with or without the silicone inner so you can get the right fit for you. It also comes with a funnel cover so when you’ve finished cleaning and sterilising it, pop the cover on to keep it nice, clean and dust free, ready for your next pumping session. The cover is also handy if you are pumping on the go. You don’t have to worry about the pump getting contaminated with anything.
The pump is very lightweight and feels very durable at the same time. One thing I really hate about the Tommee Tippee electric pump is that you can’t stand it on a table without it toppling over, unless it’s full. I can’t always pump a full bottle and I don’t need to be reminded of it by the bottle tipping over. But I don’t need to fear the judgement of my sometimes small expressions from the MAM pump as it stands tall and proud of whatever amount of milk I can pump. Thanks MAM!
Oh So Quiet
This thing is very quiet for what it is. When I used my Tommee Tippee electric pump, it used to wake Joel up it was so loud! But he’s been sleeping through my pumping sessions with the MAM 2 in 1. Bonus!
The MAM 2 in 1 is compatible with all of MAM’s Easy start bottles. Perfect for me as I’ve got loads of MAM bottles already!
What Would I Change?
The only thing that I found to be negative was just how sensitive the touch screen is. Sometimes when I pick the unit up, I accidentally turn it on/off or change the setting. My advice would be to turn the switch off on the back when you’re not using it and to be careful not to touch the screen when it’s in use.
I absolutely love this breast pump. It is currently £130 and I think it ticks all the boxes of what you would want in a breast pump to justify the price. I mean, you are getting 2 high-quality breast pumps with one being rechargeable, it’s BPA free and has a comfortable, sleek design. For me personally, it is miles better than my previous Tommer Tippee electric pump and I have the option to use the manual pump when I want. Better design, easier to assemble/clean, rechargeable and quieter. Happy days.
